Sports, concerts, comedy shows, ice skating — you can enjoy all of this and more at Cable Dahmer Arena, a state-of-the-art live entertainment venue that can seat a maximum of nearly 7,000 people.
Since the arena’s 2009 opening, it’s hosted a variety of renowned entertainers, including Billie Eilish, Adam Sandler, Blink 182, Ariana Grande and the Zac Brown Band. In addition to a robust calendar of concerts and live events, Cable Dahmer Arena is also home to two beloved local teams: the Kansas City Comets, part of the Major Arena Soccer League; and the Kansas City Mavericks, the city’s professional hockey team and affiliate of the Seattle Kraken and Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Throughout the year, Cable Dahmer Arena also serves as a community center, hosting events like public ice skating sessions in partnership with Independence Community Ice.
The arena’s prime location at the intersection of Interstates 70 and 470 makes travel to Cable Dahmer Arena a breeze. And with a number of surrounding restaurant and retail options, it’s easy to make a full day out of what’s informally known as Independence’s Arena District. Local favorites like Corner Cafe and Hereford House mingle with national brands like Old Chicago Pizza + Taproom and Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen. Independence Center shopping mall is nearby, as is a 20-screen AMC movie theatre (AMC Independence Commons 20).
