Independence is being featured on a national media outlet and we're inviting local businesses, civic organizations, and community partners to play an active role in this exciting opportunity by joining us on the Historic Independence Square on the morning of June 29 between 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

As Independence helps celebrate America's 250th birthday and showcases our community to a national audience, we want the Square to reflect the energy, pride, and spirit that make our city unique.

By volunteering your time and simply being present—shopping, visiting, gathering with colleagues, or enjoying the festivities—you can help create a vibrant and lively atmosphere that demonstrates the strength of our local business community and the welcoming character of Independence.

The first 100 people to show up on the Square will receive Visit Independence t-shirts. We will also have flags and welcome banner signs available to hold that morning.

Volunteer Parking: Lot J and City Hall Lots on Lynn St.
Check-In Location: Main Street Coffee
Please plan to check in at 6:30 a.m. to receive your t-shirt and volunteer materials. Coffee and water will be available for volunteers throughout the morning.
