Englewood Arts Center
Art is a way of life within the Englewood Arts Center, the vibrant hub of its namesake community. Learn about, shop and appreciate local art, all in one spot.
Part classroom, part boutique, part gallery and part theater, the Englewood Arts Center is the new centerpiece of the revitalized Englewood Arts District, a vibrant hub that showcases art and the vital role it plays in bringing people together and making life better.
The 30,000-square-foot arts center opened in 2024 after a 2022 groundbreaking, breathing new life into a previously blighted medical building. Non-profit organization Englewood Arts led a fundraising campaign to finance the project and manages the center, a bustling hive of artistic activity.
Art classes are held most days of the month, giving people of all ages an opportunity to explore art forms ranging from glass-making and blowing to yarn crafts, fabric dyeing and painting.
No matter when you visit the Englewood Arts Center, you’ll see exhibitions on display, including works from the current year’s artists in residence, selected from national and international applicants.
Another center highlight? The Artshop, an on-site boutique open Wednesday through Saturday that features blown glass, fiber and mixed media by local and resident artists.
At its core, the Englewood Arts Center is about making art accessible to more people. A secondary goal: to create affordable housing for artists (and anyone). The multifaceted work of the center shows the efficacy of the arts as a catalyst for community improvement. One visit to the center — and the surrounding Englewood Station Arts District — will show you just how powerful the possibilities can be.
