Visit Independence Welcomes Melissa Lambert as Tourism Coordinator

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Visit Independence is pleased to announce the hiring of Melissa Lambert as the organization's new Tourism Coordinator. Lambert will officially join the Visit Independence team on Monday, August 3, 2026.

Lambert brings more than 15 years of experience in administration, operations, customer service, accounting, and organizational support. Her background includes event coordination, marketing support, communications, and office management across multiple industries.

"As Visit Independence continues to grow, it's important that we build a team with the skills and commitment needed to support our mission," said Allison Calvin, Executive Director of Visit Independence. "Melissa's experience and passion for serving our community make her an outstanding addition to our organization. We're excited to welcome her to the team."

As Tourism Coordinator, Lambert will support visitor services, destination marketing initiatives, partner engagement, CRM management, office operations, visitor inquiries, and tourism programs that promote Independence as a premier destination for leisure travel, group tours, meetings, and events while advancing Visit Independence's mission of growing the visitor economy.
