On July 4, don't miss the America's 250th Independence Day Celebration at the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library & Museum. This free, family-friendly event features an interactive Declaration-themed chalk mural, demonstrations by the Independence 76 Fire Company, Oregon Trail living history experiences, live music from 3 Trails West, and a visit from the popular Betty Rae's Ice Cream Truck.
Beyond these special events, visitors can explore Independence's rich history at the National Frontier Trails Museum, tour the Truman Library, or enjoy a picnic in one of the city's beautiful parks.
