At the annual Strawberry Festival, enjoy free admission to the Vaile Mansion grounds, where 100 craft and antique dealers will set up shop for the day. Enjoy strawberry treats offered by the Vaile Society, as well as music, entertainment, antiques, crafts, ice cream, beverages and a children’s corner. Step inside the Vaile for a mansion tours will, also available and priced at $6 for adults and $3 for children.
The Vaile Victorian Society and the Independence Tree Commission are sponsoring an arboretum scavenger hunt at the Vaile Manison on Saturday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to noon. It will be a great way for families to spend an autumn day on the Vaile grounds. Come celebrate the wonderful history of Independence.
To participate, you must register with Charlotte Olejko, at 816-797-8711. Donations will be accepted. Meet at Vaile Mansion , 1500 N Liberty Street, parking lot on the north side of the mansion.
See the horse drawn hearse as it sits in front of the Mansion. Participate in the wake as the casket lies in state in the Lady’s Parlor. Watch the movie of the vault in the Vaile Mausoleum, plus many Victorian funeral artifacts.
Tickets will be $15 for one person/$25 for two. Tickets will go on sale on EventBrite in September.
