September 25 D.A.D.S. Day Cruz for the Cure of Diabetes Poker Run and Car Show Fundraiser

INDEPENDENCE, MO. – The D.A.D.S. Day (Dollars against Diabetes) Cruz for the Cure of Diabetes Poker Run and Car Show originally scheduled in early June at the Independence Events Center is back on the calendar for Saturday, September 25.

D.A.D.S. Day (Dollars against Diabetes) Cruz for the Cure of Diabetes Poker Run and Car Show fundraiser will be hosted by several Labor Unions associated with the Greater Kansas City Building Trades Council and other area Trade Unions.

The Independence Events Center is also happy to announce that D.A.D.S Day will now partner with the Independence Parks and Recreations event Touch-A-Truck.

Both events will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 25, when the motorcycle poker ride departs from the Independence Event Center, located at 19100 East Valley View Parkway.

A $25 donation provides a ticket to ride, t-shirt and raffle ticket. The Car Show will be held in the Independence Event Center overflow parking lot and begin at 11 a.m. Any and all vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles) are eligible for entry with a $10 donation. Touch-A-Truck will take place in the main parking lot and attendees of both events will be directed to parking in the Centerpoint Medical Center Community Ice parking lot. While there is no patron admissions fee to either event, donations for D.A.D.S Day will be collected upon entry to the overflow parking lot.

Prevalence of Diagnosed Diabetes in People Younger than 20 Years of Age, United States, 2007 • About 186,300 people younger than 20 years have diabetes—type 1 or type 2. This represents 0.2 percent of all people in this age group. Estimates of undiagnosed diabetes are unavailable for this age group.
