As the hometown of President Harry Truman, Independence, Missouri offers a variety of spaces for your next military reunion with a historical flair and that good old-fashioned Midwestern hospitality.
The Veterans Hall, located in the Truman Memorial Building, is proudly dedicated to veterans who have given military service. Meeting space can be rented for veterans programs and related meetings, military reunions, etc. Special arrangements can be made to provide group access to this location for your events.
Additionally, it is the home of the Veterans' Video Project, which provides an opportunity for veterans to videotape & preserve significant memories of their military service experiences for family members and the Library of Congress Archives.
The fourth largest city in Missouri, Independence offers an excellent array of lodging and dining options. Additionally, it's just minutes from Kansas City and a variety of significant historic sites including the newly renovated Liberty Memorial, the only World War I memorial in the United States.
We provide planning assistance, discounts and many other amenity services to simplify the planning process. Don’t forget to ask about our "Buck Stops Here" discount program and availability of our Truman impersonator to enhance your visit.
Some reunions are MORE IMPORTANT than others! Let us arrange for a Truman Impersonator at one of your events, a driving tour of key Truman sites, or a visit to the newly renovated World War I Liberty Memorial located just 20 minutes away in Kansas City.
