"Puppets - Depression to Recession"
Description:
A collection of puppets made by W.P.A. artists at the Nelson Atkins Museum during the depression and loaned by Jean Baldwin and James Seidelman are the featured exhibit. Also on display is a collection of puppets by Ray Moore from Tennessee and some unusual needle "felted" puppets by Pam Corcoran of Wisconsin. Block of the Month Quilt Workshop

Quilter Sharron Gregg facilitates this wonderful quilt workshop that will recreate the beautiful commemorative NFTM quilt hanging in our museum store, only on a smaller scale. Each month participants will work on two squares. Fee includes fabric kit, threads, and templates. Bring your own needles, scissors, and thimble.

Memories of Korea Exhibit at Truman Library

Commemorating the 60th anniversary of the start of the Korean War. the exhibit will help visitors feel the impact of the Korean conflict and legacy through the eyes of those who lived there, who fought there, and who were permanently changed by what happened there. Organized around four cultural themes - culture and history, antecedents, war, and legacy, the exhibit will explore the rich culture of Korea; the political winds that led to the first battle of the Cold War; forgotten and newly declassified details that shed new light on the conflict; and the story of the war's aftermath, now six decades long. Wedding Vaile Tea Party & Vintage Fashion Show - SOLD OUT

* SOLD OUT * From 2 to 4 p.m., guests will be entertained by harp music as they stroll through the elegant mansion and savor tea sandwiches, wedding cake, tea and punch served on crystal and china. Decorartions will feature spring flowers and decor fit for a spring wedding. Wedding dresses and clothes from the nineteenth century to the 1970s will be informally modeled and staff dressed as a Victorian maid and butler will be in attendance.
